Giorgia Meloni: "Expansion of the Special Economic Zone to the Marche and Umbria regions"

The Prime Minister's speech in Ancona, presenting the government's initiatives for the Marche region: the government is "jointly committed to supporting the development of this region, which, in my view, is strategic not only for the Marche region itself but for Italy as a whole. It is a region that draws its life from its productive fabric, made up of small and medium-sized businesses, companies known for the excellence of their products. Without the Marche region, Made in Italy would not be what we know it as. Many of the products that make us admired and appreciated around the world are made in this region. A piece of our identity is embedded in what we produce, which is why, no matter how desperately many try, they fail to copy Italian products."
"We have chosen to give this region an additional opportunity: today's Council of Ministers will approve the law that allows the social economic zone to be extended to the Marche and Umbria regions. The special economic zone," he noted, "is a tool that is yielding extraordinary results. We have focused on having a single special economic zone for all the regions of Southern Italy," and we are seeing "extremely significant results, but we want to extend the special economic zone to qualified regions, this applies to the Marche and Umbria."
The ZES "is very effective in helping those who invest, create jobs, and produce. It allows for a single tax authorization, guarantees speed, and allows for the valorization of territorial specificities, stabilizing the effectiveness of other resources such as the PNRR and cohesion funds."
With the "unique special economic zone" as of January 1, 2024, over 700 unique permits have already been issued, leading to significant strategic investments.
